Joey King's latest attempt to cook a meal took a turn for the worst when she decided to throw vegetables into a pan of hot oil.
Photos obtained by Entertainment Weekly show the star covered in burns from her mouth to her collarbone as a result of the oil striking her face. The Kissing Booth actress shared a few snaps of the cooking mishap to her Instagram Story, zooming in on the burns and the cream she applied to alleviate the pain.
Before sharing photos to social media, King called her mother who used the incident to resound her distaste for cooking.
"I burned myself a few days ago by throwing shallots into a pan of hot oil. I called my mom to tell her and she says 'see that's why I hate cooking.'"
In the snaps, fans can see painful-looking red marks covering the bottom half of the actress's face. King is certainly no stranger to accidents in the kitchen and has failed to deliver a convincing portrayal of a chef in her element once before. Entertainment Weekly mentioned that the Summer '03 star tried to bake a pie in 2023 and struggled with the crust, sharing her frustrations with Instagram followers.
"Every f---ing time I make a pie I somehow become dory from finding f---ing Nemo and forget. I become ABSOLUTELY delusional. 'Oh I love making pie'. Oh do you Joey? You lying little s---. DO NOT EVEN TALK TO ME WHEN IM TRYING TO WORK WITH THE CRUST."
